Welcome to,
Primary School

Pushforward Primary School is an independent special Primary School for young people aged between 7 -11 years.

Set in Rougham, Bury St Edmunds, within a small nurturing environment with plenty of outdoor space and opportunities for offsite visits to various places such farms, parks, museums and sports centres.

We provide full time education to students who have a variety of needs including social, emotional and mental health. Our team has a vast experience of working with children with varying additional needs including ADHD, ASD, PDA, PTSD and ODD.

Our Aim

For every young person who walks through our doors to be proud of who they are, to know they have right to be an individual, to know they matter, to have a voice, feel safe and confident enough to progress through the world in a way which makes them smile.

Our School Model

We pride ourselves on our ability to build strong working relationships with both the children and parents/carers. At the very heart of what we do is relationship building, no child will be able to access any learning until they feel safe and secure. When a child initially joins us, we will spend at least the first term getting to know them, building a profile, this will then enable teaching staff to deliver lessons appropriately to meet the needs of the specific child.

Our curriculum will be delivered through a personalised approach, with each individual child’s needs, abilities, strengths and specific interests being taken into consideration to develop lesson plans to best suit them and to best aid their progression. We will work at three levels, nurtured, tailored and academic, each student will be placed at a level for each area of the curriculum based on their needs, working their way up or down when necessary.
