A working class lad from the Black Country, I have always felt a sense of community and was supported by people around me. The morals instilled in me from my incredible parents meant finding strength in my own achievements not looking for the fault in others to make you feel better. I dabbled as a bad actor before finding a sensible job in banking alongside my youth work. Whilst a Private Bank manager, A complaint from a client about the lack of suit jacket in 35 degree heat!…lead me to rethink my career choice and so I started working full time in the youth sector.
My journey has taken me across country development programmes to support those most marginalised and vulnerable.
Pushforward Education Ltd was created when I realised I could do so much more in this sector and support more young people to realise their dreams, find their spark and feel confident and comfortable heading into adulthood.

I have been working in the background of Pushforward for 10 years. I bring a wealth of early years and primary experience to the organisation and specialise in reading, understanding and creating a safe place for young people to regulate and thrive.
My role at Pushforward is Director for Primary Education. I am at the centre of the Pushforward ethos and belief that we go first to where the child is and work from there, not stand where we expect them to be and drag them to us.

I am a qualified accountant and Pushforward’s Group Finance Director, together with managing the Administrations Team to ensure efficiency and effective processes and systems.

A PhD student currently studying prisons and lifers, my passion is in equality and fair justice. Having received a BSc in Criminology, then an MA in Crime and Victimology, I feel strongly about the socio economic divide which places people in environments that make or break them. Not everyone is born with the same opportunities, but we can all help to ensure people are given the same chances. I’ve spent the last 8 years using my own lived experience to inform my practice, working within prisons and the youth justice sector where I specialised in life sentences and exploitation cases.
At Pushforward I support children on a one-to-one basis, focussing on relationship building and learning their stories, I also deliver crime and justice modules to encourage children to be aware of their rights, and the law. The aim is to help them understand the legal clauses in actions, consequential thinking, and what their rights are in terms of the law. This includes work around police, services, courts, justice and prisons.
I work for Pushforward because I believe in their mission. Supporting children from all walks of life, it is my aim to find their strengths and help them grow. I work in conjunction with public sector organisations, ensuring all children are treated fairly and given opportunities to help them succeed.

I left school at 16 with a passion to support young people to ensure they did not struggle in the same ways I had.
Over the course of the last 15 years, I have worked in Early Years and independent schooling supporting children who find it difficult to cope in mainstream with qualifications in SEN and Montessori education I believe that following the leaner is key .
I enjoy being active and being outdoors, outside of Pushforward. I am a fitness instructor and netball coach. Everything I do is done with enthusiasm, energy, and laughter and with the motto to chase your dreams and never give up.
Andy Lambert

Someone once told me “Theres always a way” and that’s the motto I live by.
Previously worked at a PRU for 6 years before joining Pushforward.
Started with Delivery working students on a 121 basis and ensuring that any session we had always revolved around laughing and having fun – Build the relationship first and everything else follows. Every young person we work has a unique skill and something to offer the world, just because they don’t yet know it, makes the journey even more exciting.
I now manage all of Secondary staff (no point putting a number as its constantly growing) and make sure that staff are fully supported within their role and have everything they need to perform to the levels we expect. Staff are also able to talk through any concerns or worries they may have in and outside of work. Ensuring staff are happy and valued is something I value and will always review that this is being achieved. HR matters are addressed and Annual reviews are also part of my role.
Outside of Pushforward my family are my world (alongside Arsenal).
Always look to find the fun in life and any task set, If you’re happy everything else falls into place.

I have been working in the education sector for the past 16 years across many different roles from teaching all main curriculum to management of contracts in education.
I have a real passion to help and encourage people to overcome barriers to reach a particular goal or aspiration through challenge and encouragement.
My main passion is sport and fitness. I have over 25 years experience within various martial arts. I have competed at elite level within the sport and then followed this onto competing and coaching in MMA. I have also been lucky enough to coach some very high level professional athletes to help reach the top of there Field.
I believe that everyone has the right to daily movement and should embrace the opportunities that can be presented to them through support and encouragement. Pushfoward allows young people to do this and also for them to be who they are!

I originally pursued a career as an actor, but sadly lacked the good looks and talent. Decided I wanted to inspire people in other ways and spent the last 10 years working in a range of setting including forest school, youth hubs, employment support, PRU and SEN settings and further education.
I have a passion for nature and wellbeing and hope to bring this, and fun, to my work at Push Forward as a Delivery Practitioner. Engaging with young people through conversation education to better understand themselves.

I have worked in the primary sector of education for over twenty five years in both Sheffield and Suffolk. In that time I have taught every subject going and held various senior positions, including a successful stint as a headteacher for five years.
My approach to education has always been an holistic one – thinking about the whole child – as 9/10ths of the job is ensuring someone is ready to learn and engage; once you’ve got that and you can capture their interest the rest often follows.
Two of my own children have complex needs who require high levels of support and care. I’d like to think that this helps me to empathise and understand the challenge for parents of those with additional needs.
I am the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo), for Pushforward. As SENDCo I am available to offer advice to staff and parents, make referrals to, and coordinate the use of specialist services (such as speech and language or occupational therapy), help arrange and attend any meetings or reviews, and refer for assessments (ADHD, Autism).
If you would like to contact me, please do so via either of the following email addresses – marc.careless@pushforward.uk or senco@pushforward.uk

I have 20+ years of work experience in Administration and 10 years in Primary Education. I have worked in countless industries, run my own businesses and I’m also an Army Cadet Instructor.
My loves are my daughters, horses, my Motorbike (on a sunny day), puzzles and having a laugh!
Everyone does not fit the standard education mould. I didn’t really fit in with school and got out as soon as my exams were done. When I was in school that was it, fit in or drop out. Now, there are fantastic opportunities, like Pushforward, to support those Young People that formal education just doesn’t work for. Everyone here is incredibly supportive and wants to help those they work with see their amazing potential.
My role here is to make sure the administration is running to plan each day and generally help out where I can.

I commuted to London for work from Essex for (too) many years, before moving to Montreal with my family. While in Canada I worked as a teaching assistant to SEND students.
I am grateful to be working alongside so many hard-working, passionate people at Pushforward, committed to improving young students’ experiences with education. Every day I feel like we are making a difference.
My happy place is watching an old movie on the sofa with a wonky dog, a cup of tea and slice of cake!

I used to spend much of my time as Dad’s taxi to my 3 children ferrying them to various high level sporting events. But now they are grown, I spend my ‘spare’ time with my wife and my 4 grandchildren. Watching football, home workouts and going to live music gigs also have to be fitted in!

I have worked within administration for over 30 years, varying from Corporate Business Support to Patient Liaison Officer within the NHS.
It has become very evident to me over the years that there has to be a purpose to what I do, I care about people, I need to work in industries that make a difference to people lives, and I hope that in a small way I have been a part of that support.
I am thrilled to be working here at Pushforward, to be part of a team that is focused on young people, supporting, encouraging, and making a difference is incredible, and I am here to support the team the best I can.

I was a journalist in magazine publishing for almost 20 years before running a small PR company specialising in sports and outdoors.
I became a primary school teacher, after finding working with young people a joyous challenge over ten years of football coaching.
After eight years as a class teacher at a primary school, I was looking for a different challenge and I found Pushforward. Once I saw and heard what it is all about, I leapt at the chance to join when it presented itself.

Hi! My name is Ellie and I am a Primary Delivery Practitioner for Pushforward. I love going on walks, cooking and baking, arts, crafts, and I’ll give anything new a go! I have previous experience of working in a dementia care home and support work for the residents. I’m passionate about helping people in whatever way I can! I consider myself to be a calm, friendly and welcoming person who is always happy to provide a helping hand and listening ears.
I love working for Pushforward as I have so much passion for helping our young people to grow and develop to achieve everything they can in life! I love getting to know the young people I am working with, as together we can find the right way to bring joy to their learning and encourage them to feel proud of their achievements away from a class room.
I do have past experience with young people who do not suit school and refuse to go. School isn’t for everyone and that’s why I feel so passionate about helping young people to learn in a way that suits them, not what they are told suits them!

Hello! My name’s Emily! I’m a Primary Delivery Practitioner here at Pushforward after I joined in May 2025! I have worked in the SEMH/SEN education sector since I was 19 years old and absolutely love it. As a neurodivergent individual myself, and after experiencing many of the same challenges our amazing young people face, I knew that I’d be able to provide a supportive, judge free and safe environment for children just like myself: to be unapologetically themselves.
Normal is boring and I hope to be the adult that I needed when I was younger, for them!

I have a real passion for helping young people build their confidence and learn. So during lockdown, I chose to start an education-based qualification and have since done over 4 years working in education. I love to see the children I work with learn and achieve.

Hey there! I’m Andy Wybrew, and if you’re looking for someone who has spent more time under a vehicle than in a living room, you’ve found your guy. At 44 years young, I’ve officially spent half of my life—22 years, to be exact—covered in grease, chasing down mysterious rattles, and making engines purr like happy kittens.
Over the last two decades, I’ve worked on pretty much everything that has wheels. From daily drivers and high-performance sports cars to the occasional “what on earth is this?” vehicle, I’ve seen it all. I fell into working with young people by accident, in fact I always avoided working with young people because I thought I wouldn’t like it or be good at it. Then I had my first job with young people over 20 years ago and I’ve never looked back. I’ve worked in secondary schools and behaviour units with all sorts of young people experiencing all sorts of difficulties. The thing they’ve all had in common is the desire to form positive relationships with others and to be seen and heard. Working with young people has brought me so much joy and laughter. I approach most things in life with a sense of humour and an understanding that really, in the end, we are all the same and want the same things. To be happy, to feel good at something and to feel like we can achieve whatever it is we want out of life.

I’ve spent over 20 years in the hospitality industry but recently decided it was time for a new adventure! I’ve always had a passion for working with young people and helping them build new skills, so I’m excited to finally have the opportunity to do just that—watching them grow and develop is going to be incredibly rewarding.
At home, life is just as lively! I’ve got two girls who keep me on my toes—we love playing and watching football together, and we’re often out and about on walks with our new puppy.
I’m really looking forward to meeting you!

Lisa Manning
Hi I am Lisa I am 48 years old and have 2 teenage daughters. My first teaching experience was working at Highpoint Prison teaching Business to groups of learners and teaching them skills to set up and run their own business.
I have also worked at West Suffolk College and Samuel Ward school teaching business to GCSE and A level students.
I have a real passion for teaching and giving young people the chance to find their skills and interests in life to help them progress and succeed in their lives.

My journey into education began through alternative provision as a young person who used these services myself, I saw first-hand the impact that unconditional understanding and opportunity can have. I knew early on that I wanted to use my lived experience to help others feel seen, supported and able to succeed in their own way.
I’m not a scientist, or a psychologist, or anyone with a long list of titles. I’m someone who grew up without my needs being met, and who has now spent more than a decade meeting those same needs for others.
Over the past ten years, I’ve worked across many areas of alternative provision, including outdoor education, NEET and post-16 pathways, focusing on community engagement. In 2017, I went to university to study social and community development, before completing my PGCE in citizenship education and specialising in personal development. These experiences strengthened my belief that education should be built around the young people it serves.
My focus is on creating spaces designed specifically for our students: spaces that nurture individuality, celebrate strengths and give every young person the opportunity to flourish.
In an exciting expansion within Pushforward we will be opening our Secondary School. When this happens, I will be proud to take up my new position as Head of Secondary School.

I’ve got three main values that I follow in my life that transcend into my work with young people. Freedoms, Family and Adventure. Freedom to me is everything. As the song goes, everybodys free to feel good. Family, well yes mine (as in those at home) but also within the Pushforward family. We’ll do our best by you and all you have to do is turn up.
At Pushforward Education I am a subcontractor offering opportunities to young people to take part in fitness and drama.
And finally everything is an adventure.
Adventure is why I get out of bed everyday with a sense of excitement and fun. See you out there…If you don’t see me first!

Hi, I’m Matt. I’m a laid-back guy who loves a good laugh and enjoys all things music, golf, and football. I play both guitar and drums, and when I’m not making noise, I’m probably out on the course, watching Man United or spending time with my Wife and 2 boys.
I’ve been working in carpentry and joinery for 23 years, and now I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with the incredible young people I work with. Woodwork is such a creative and rewarding skill. We can make a huge variety of things and have a great time doing it. Whether it’s building something practical or just having fun with the tools, there’s always something new to learn and enjoy.

I’m a busy mum of two, usually found juggling family life with walks with my miniature dachshund, Margot. I spent 12 years working as an estate agent, where I loved helping people find their perfect home to rent or buy. More recently, I’ve worked in a secondary school, supporting students which has made me understand that one system does not always fit all.
I’m friendly, down to earth and enjoy working with people from all walks of life.

Michael Clough
Michael Clough
I’m Michael, a fun-loving family man!
I’m a neurodivergent girl dad of 3 who enjoys nothing more than spending quality time with people I care about. My main outlooks on life are “Knowledge is power”—the more you know, the more you can achieve—and “It’s nice to be nice”, meaning that for me, the act of being nice is far more rewarding whether it is received or rejected by others. This was not always the case! In my youth I found mainstream school extremely difficult, this had a negative impact on my personal life as well as my education.
Once I got to grips with who I wanted to be and realised I want to help mentor and teach people, children in particular. I spent over nine years coaching children and adults in a range of sports, including archery, football, swimming, rock climbing, and many others. I then spent a short time in residential care setting before moving to Pushforward.

As well as working for Pushforward I also run a Martial arts gym with my husband called Embrace The Grind. We have a little sewing room where we will be based so when completing sessions with me you will be in the very lovely environment.

I spent 20 years working as a painter and decorator, honing my skills and building a career that I’m proud of. But along the way, I realised that what I really wanted was to pass on my knowledge to young people—especially those who, like me, didn’t always feel like they fit into the traditional education system.
As a father of two, I understand how important it is for young people to have the right opportunities and support. That’s why I’m passionate about working in alternative education, helping students develop practical skills, confidence, and a sense of achievement. Whether it’s through hands-on learning or just having someone who understands their struggles, I want to make a difference.

Hi there! I’m Becca, and I’m really looking forward to being your digital art tutor. I know meeting someone new can feel a bit nerve-racking, but I promise our sessions will be relaxed, creative, and full of encouragement.
I mainly teach digital art, helping you explore your imagination through drawing, design, and cool creative tools. Whether you’re just starting out or already love making art, I’ll support you in building your skills and confidence.
A little about me: I’m a bit of a nerd (in the best way!). I love gaming, watching anime, and collecting figures from my favourite shows and games. I also sell art prints, so I know what it’s like to turn creativity into something you can share with others. When I’m not teaching or making art, I’m usually hanging out with my sausage dog Mabel and my two cats Pandora and Pumba, or my family and friends.
I can’t wait to meet you and see what amazing things you’ll create!

I’ve worked with children, young people and adults in various therapeutic roles for over 20 years. I’ve been privileged to meet so many unique individuals that don’t fit in conventional boxes and find a different way to understand & then help them. I’m big on family, spending time with people who lift others up, and sport is both my passion & how I balance life’s stresses.
Sabrina Nicholas
Sabrina Nicholas
Hey young people, I’m Sabrina.
I asked students and staff to describe me because I’m not always the best at talking about myself, and the words they came back with were funny, quiet, caring, quirky, unique, and sometimes a little annoying! I think all those things help me connect with different people in different ways. Everyone is different and I know there is no one-size-fits-all approach to learning, which is why I pride myself on creating a calm, supportive space where you can feel safe, comfortable, and able to be yourself without judgement.
My role as a delivery support practitioner is to work alongside you, build on your strengths and help you grow in confidence while learning in a way that works best for you. Whether that means trying something completely new, building on skills you already have, or finding a different way to approach learning.
Sam Harvey
Sam Harvey
Hi, I’m Sam. I work at Pushforward as a Secondary Delivery Practitioner. I’m really into fitness and a big believer in the benefits it has for both physical and mental wellbeing. I used to compete at a world level in powerlifting, but these days I focus more on endurance sports.
Before joining Pushforward, I spent around 15 years working in the security, construction and gym industries. I enjoy working with young people and understand that one approach doesn’t work for everyone, so I try to keep things flexible and meet people where they’re at. I’m all about helping build confidence, share skills, and support others in a way that works for them.

I have been working in hairdressing and barbering education for most of my career, I started my journey with an apprenticeship and then pursued a career in teaching a few years after.
I gained my certificate of education in 2021 at the university of Suffolk which has given me the confidence to deliver education inclusively, whilst ensuring my young people can have fun whilst learning.
I am a Delivery Practitioner at Pushforward working mainly in Ipswich, I am local to the community having vast knowledge of the area and all the fun educational activities available.
Steve Thorne

Most of my past work has been in computer software development, and have been self employed since 2002. From 2018 to 2022 I volunteered in a charity shop and delivered hot meals, also on a voluntary basis.
My love for driving made the position of Driver for Pushforward sound like it had been written for me.
Since starting as driver in 2022, my role has moved more towards Delivery Practitioner, which I enjoy just as much, possibly more.
I have no children of my own and have never worked with children or young adults. Most of the time this doesn’t feel like work: the Young People are always interesting; my colleagues are incredibly passionate about what we do; and there is always something new and interesting going on. I have been fortunate enough to have enjoyed every job I have had, but this blows the others out of the water!

I love to problem solve and believe anything is possible if you’re given half the chance.
I’m a mother of four and my journey as a parent has fuelled my passion to embrace individuality and to ensure young people are given the right environment to share their passions and pursue their dreams.
My passions are baking, DIY and anything creative I also love to be around animals.

Troy Codrington
Troy Codrington
I have worked in the education sector for 11 years in different roles from Teaching assist to tutor and programme management.
My passion for working with young people comes from hoping and to ensure that young people are supported and guided in what they wish to pursue in their lives which I did not have the privilege to receive when I was at school. I hope to help give the future generation access to opportunities and chances to help them progress not make the mistakes that I had made.
My aim working at Pushforward is to help young people achieve their personal goals through empowering and challenging.
I have a love for all sports and fitness but specifically enjoy Basketball, Boxing and the Gym. I enjoy the gym not to only improve my own fitness but to also help educate and progress others in their personal fitness goals. Alongside these I also have passion for music and drumming.
I believe that nothing can’t be achieved without hard work a little hope and trying your best!

Hello, I’m Tyler
My previous role was a Higher Level Teaching Assistant with eight years of experience in a primary school setting. I thrive as part of a team and take great pride in supporting, engaging, and motivating pupils to reach their full potential. I am passionate about helping children build confidence and thrive, particularly in the areas they enjoy and feel most motivated by.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time outdoors, going for walks, keeping active at the gym, and getting creative (even if I’m not always great at it!). I love trying new things and always give 100% to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children I support.
Vonny Palfrey

I joined Push Forward in September 2025 as a Secondary Delivery Practitioner and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. Before that, I spent 5 years working in a school for students with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), where I had a variety of roles including TA, HLTA and DSL. During that time, I trained as a Trauma-Informed Practitioner, which really shaped the way I work with young people.
I believe education isn’t “one size fits all.” Everyone learns differently, and I’m passionate about finding ways to make learning inclusive, helping students overcome challenges and reach their potential.
Outside of work, life is busy and fun with my two children and our two Siamese cats. I love being outdoors—especially in the sunshine—whether it’s walking in the woods, paddleboarding, or going to the beach. I also enjoy arts and crafts, cooking and baking, watching films and series, and trying out different hairstyles (French and Dutch braids are my favourite!). I enjoy football and tennis too, even if I’m not the best player!
