We feel it is important to acknowledge the gaps and focus on the following throughout:

THE GAP IN PREPERATION AND CONFIDENCE

There are young people who have struggled through a traditional education system or have taken an alternative route through KS3 and KS4. Placing them immediately into a mainstream route for further education will be setting them up for failure. They require support to prepare them for progression to college or apprenticeships.

 THE GAP IN EDUCATIONAL KNOWLEDGE

When education is missed or restricted there are fundamentals in learning that are absent.  This can cause learners to dismiss the usefulness of academic subjects rather than admin the gaps. This hampers student’s ability to progress successfully through recognised qualifications in Maths and English.  We will look closely at those learning gaps and through a mixture of teaching and practical application of those skills which  will reignite learners belief in themselves, whilst filling the gaps in learning.

 THE GAP IN SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT

Students who navigate the school system through isolation, absence and misunderstanding will miss the skill of managing peer engagement that is so vital when you move into Education, Employment or Training.

THE GAP IN TRADITIONAL SCHOOL SUCCESS

When learners that we work with are compared statistically, on paper they fall short of their peers. We will create and provide learning opportunities and experiences that will set them apart from peers, allowing them to feel proud of themselves and confident in who they are as individuals and bridge the gap between academic grades and world experience.

Pushforward work with those young people that others have given up on. Those that don't fit the mould of traditional education and need to be engaged differently.
